Summary

Childhope’s Children and Young People’s Participation Training Workshop Guide is designed to support our partners and other organizations to actively involve children and young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of their programmes. Piloted in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Peru, the manual includes many practical examples of how children can enrich decision making, improve outcomes and be powerful forces for change.

Training sessions cover 10 cross-cutting themes:
• Basic introduction to participation
• Models of Participation
• Contextual Analysis
• Ethical frameworks
• Inclusion
• Engagement of marginalised children and young people
• Achieving meaningful collaboration
• Participatory evaluation Techniques
• Action Planning

There is also an extensive guide to additional e-resources for organizations who wish to develop their practice further.
The Guide can be downloaded from the Childhope website – http://www.childhope.org.uk/children-participation-manual/ .

If you would like further information on how Childhope can help your organization promote the participation of children and young people in your work, please contact Karen Baker at karen@childhope.org.uk
