Summary

The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) represent a global commitment to securing the rights of children in all countries. Reaching those children who are being left the furthest behind is a prerequisite for achieving the Goals overall. It is important that all countries include street children in their efforts to achieve the SDGs.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will be providing a child rights report to inform global reviews of progress taking place in 2019 under the High Level Political Forum, the global body tasked with reviewing progress on the SDGs. Child in Need Institute (CINI) submitted this report focusing on the challenges and best practices for achieving street children’s rights in India.

Consortium for Street Children (CSC) sent in a submission focusing on street children’s rights globally. You can read CSC’s submission here.
