Twenty one CSC Network Members have contributed their perspectives for this submission, including Pendekezo Letu in Kenya, in collaboration with Toybox; Dwelling Places in Uganda; Voice of Children in Nepal; Network for Street Children Sierra Leone; and members of CSC’s West Africa Strategic Advocacy Group: WUZDA, Centre for Initiative Against Human Trafficking, Street Child Empowerment Foundation, Safe Child Advocacy, Muslim Family Counselling Services and Starlight Foundation in Ghana; Isa Wali Empowerment Initiative, Home and Street Kids Welfare Initiative, Child Lifeline, Street Child Care and Welfare Initiative in Nigeria; Don Bosco, Laughter Africa, Street Child of Sierra Leone and Future Focus Foundation in Sierra Leone; NM House in Cameroon; and Halsa International in Togo.
This submission provides perspectives from advocates and practitioners working with one of the most discriminated against groups of children, CiSS, on access to justice and effective remedies. It outlines the challenges, promising practices, and provides recommendations to ensure that the rights of CiSS are protected in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and General Comment 21.
