Director of Programmes and Advocacy

This exciting role is mission critical for the Consortium for Street Children. The postholder will have the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of many children living in street situations, with a high level of influence and empowerment in the organisation.

  • Reporting: To the Chief Executive
  • Working hours: Full time
  • Salary: £42,000-£50,000 depending on experience
  • Annual leave: 25 days + Bank Holidays
  • Pension: Employer contribution of 5% of gross salary

  • Duration: Permanent

Legal and Advocacy Intern

As a Legal and Advocacy Intern at Consortium for Street Children (CSC), you will help us to raise awareness and create change for street-connected children around the world so that they are able to access the same rights owed to every other child. You will support the Programmes and Advocacy to promote the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child’s authoritative guidance about the rights of street children, the General Comment on Children in Street Situations, at the international, regional, national and local levels.

  • Starting date: Flexible, preferably early September 2021.
  • Working hours: flexible in line with the selected candidate’s availability and commitments.
  • Location: Homeworking, with the possibility to work from CSC’s Bethnal Green offices depending on government guidelines.
  • Expenses: this is an unpaid volunteering opportunity. We offer our interns a flat rate of £20 per day, to cover expenses.
  • Reporting: direct reporting to the Legal and Advocacy Officer.
  • Duration: flexible according to the selected candidate’s availability: 6 months preferred if possible to allow for on-boarding and development.

Digital Intern

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to support the delivery of our digital strategy, particularly under our flagship project – Keeping Street-connected Children Safe – in partnership with Red Nose Day USA. You will help to implement our innovative work to digitally connect street children with one another through a custom-made online platform, as well as supporting the development of our website, resource library and targeted social media.

  • Starting date: Early September 2021.
  • Working hours: part-time (2 days per week) to coincide with the working hours of the Senior Digital Officer
  • Location: We are transitioning to hybrid working: 50% working from home, 50% from our offices in Bethnal Green (St Margaret’s House, 15 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, London E2 9PJ).
  • Expenses: this is an unpaid volunteering opportunity. We offer our interns a flat rate of £20 per day, to cover expenses.
  • Reporting: reporting to the Senior Digital Officer
  • Duration: Up to 31st December
