It is with the greatest sadness that CSC has learned of the passing of Dr Roger Hayes, Chair of our Development Board.  We are heartbroken by the loss of one of dearest allies and supporters.

All of us –  Board of Trustees, Development Board members, and staff loved working with Roger.  He brought an unparalleled combination of goodwill, creative thinking and a determined ‘we can find a way to do this’ attitude.  Right to the end he was tirelessly finding new ways to help us improve our work and impact.

Above all he had a deep seated passion and seemingly endless energy to do right by street children and incredibly generous long-standing support for our work through his late wife Maggie Eales’ trust.   Their joint commitment to children around the world is one that will live on.

A professional, humanitarian and great friend, words can’t begin to say how much we will miss him.   We all send our deepest sympathy to his family, colleagues and many friends.

Signed:

Julia Cook and Emily Smith Reid, Co-chairs, Board of Trustees

Caroline Ford, (Chief Executive Jan 2017- Feb 2021)
