Summary

Since 2000 DCI-SL began a juvenile justice program that helped many children particularly the displaced who were usually involved in unlawful conducts and often found in police cells because they had no one to bail them. This programme was entrenched by a laudable support of the United States Government through the Embassy in Freetown in September 2003 with the aim of facilitating justice for children in conflict and or in contact with the law.

This report evaluates the programme as well as advovacy ventures made, concluding with a reccomendation that that there should be an effective collaboration and networking mechanism among all the stakeholders of juvenile justice system that should be coordinated by the state actors particularly the ministry of social welfare gender and children’s affairs.
