Summary

This report from civil society regarding the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Brazil, to be sent to the United Nations’ Committee of the Rights of the Child in Geneva, is an initiative of ANCED – the National Association of Defense Centers for the Rights of the Child and the Adolescent, a non-profit body with its head office in Fortaleza.  The objective of this report is to present the advances and retreats of the situation of the child-adolescent-youth in Brazilian society during the last ten years and, particularly, in the movements in defence of the child and the adolescent. It also intends to draw the attention of the international community to the serious violations of the rights of this group, in a country that has a poor history when it comes to human rights, especially those related to ethnic groups, gender, generations, etc
