Summary

Participants came from six Arab countries and some regional and international organizations. The workshop focussed on two essential items: (i) the historical background of the Convention Rights of the Child, its main aspects, how it works and the role of NGOs. (ii) an Arab reading into the Convention: children’s rights in Arab societies and how the Convention relates to local culture and traditions.
